StentBoost

Making the invisible visible

Philips’ unique StentBoost helps you assess stents and balloons, first time right.

With StentBoost you can:

. View the stent and the vessel in the same image for better visualization of stent positioning and assessment of deployment.

. Improve accuracy and deployment assessment by viewing the stent and vessel in the same image.

. Save time by instantly checking and correcting the pre-deployment position of stents during the procedure.

. Save money by shortening procedures and potentially eliminating additional ones.

Features and Benefits

StentBoost improves accuracy

StentBoost can help you place the stent more accurately the first time. StentBoost enables you to see the stent and the vessel in the same image, which helps position stents more accurately in side branches and stent in stent situations to support improved patient management. By viewing the stent and vessel in the same image, StentBoost helps you see instantly underdeployement and malapposition and helps you to position the balloon. It enables you to identify stent fractures or gaps between stents and correct them during the procedure. It may eliminate the need for additional procedures, helping to reduce the risk for cardiovascular patients.

StentBoost saves time

Check and correct stent placement instantly during the procedure to carry out the intervention in a timely manner. Just press a button and a StentBoost run is automatically created during the intervention. You get results in just a few seconds. It supports you in performing complicated procedures, like bifurcations and ostial lesions. StentBoost is a non-invasive tool for checking stents which can shorten procedure time in many cases.

StentBoost saves money

By using StentBoost during a procedure, you can identify and correct potential problems in stent placement beforehand. This may eliminate the need for additional procedures and prolonged hospital stays. Being able to identify previously placed stents can help you develop the correct interventional strategies beforehand to conserve lab time and staffing resources. Expensive consumables are not required to create a StentBoost image.

StentBoost for Interventional Cardiology

Quick and easy

A StentBoost image is produced using the radiopaque markers of the delivery balloon. The result is a still image of the stent with enhanced edges and the region of interest around it. StentBoost images take just 30 seconds to produce:

. Acquire images. After stent placement, you make a normal exposure run without contrast, with the delivery catheter still in place, the balloon deflated.

. Send Images. Send the run to the StentBoost interventional tool. With Philips Xper systems this is done automatically.

. Select Region of Interest. Select the Region of Interest around the catheter markers and start processing.

. Display StentBoost image.  Within a few seconds, the enhanced stent image is displayed in the control and / or examination room.

Archiving and Access

The StentBoost interventional tool is based on an open structure, so images can be easily archived and accessed via other modalities. E.g. images can be easily viewed remotely in the office or at home and shared with colleagues, thanks to Philips’ unique web server functionality. These images are produced in standard formats like JPEG, AVI.
